  1. u have to get common denominators

  2. (x/5) + (1/2) = (3x/6)

    Reduce the right side

    (x/5) + (1/2) = (x/2)

    Multiply all the fractions by the smallest number that the denominators, 2 and 5, go into, which is 10

    10(x/5) + 10(1/2) = 10(x/2)

    10x/5 + 10/2 = 10x/2

    Reduce the fractions

    2x + 5 = 5x

    Subtract 2x from both sides

    5 = 3x

    Divide both sides by 3

    x = 5/3

    Hope this helps you!  Please email for further clarification.

  3. Multiply by the common denominator which is 30 and you get...

    6x + 15 = 15x

    9x = 15

    x = 5/3

  4. x/5+1/2=3x/6

    I would first reduce 3x/6 to x/2

    ok what is the LCD of 5 and 2?

    if they have no common factors, multiply them

    5*2=10

    now your question is

    2x/10+5/10=x/2

    add them together

    2x+5/10=x/2

    if you were finding x i would change x/2 to 5x/10

    2x+5/10=5x/10

    multiply each side by 10

    2x+5=5x

    subtract 2x from each side

    5=3x

    transitive property

    3x=5

    x=5/3
