Question

Off with you oh cast of mine

Before I lose my ever loving mind.

Oh yes the great day was yesterday

Was I happy, need I say!

I rejoiced by going to Burger King

The slowest one, if you know what I mean!

Oh let me end this dreadful poem

I just wanted to let you know my cast was off!

Scratch those dark nights

Celebrate your freedom

NOW! Be careful with that tender skin that was under there...don't go scratching all crazy or you'll break it and end up with an infection, and do keep an eye on that nail!

I like the notion, but maybe you can liken the cast to something more metaphorical. Think of what a cast was to you, and identify it as a cast, but maybe it became a snare on your soul, or something more accurately describing the way it hindered you.
