  1. Immigration, Abortion, Marriage.

  2. There are better places to get information then here.  What you have gotten is partisan answers.

    Check out these links

You can get a better indication of what the right wants vs the left.

One place, non partisan, does not take sides, speaks the truth and is simple to navigate through.

What you need to do is "comparison shop", I.E., check out what one candidate has done, or wants to do against their opposite.

  3. The above answers are about social conservatism.  There is also fiscal conservatism.

Typically, Democrats will "tax and spend".  They tend to raise taxes, put more regulations on businesses and believe in the inheritance tax. They tend to support "big government" meaning lots of social programs and other government agencies/regulators.   By doing this, Democrats believe that they are working toward the common good.

Historically, conservatives tend to cut taxes.  They believe people should keep most of what they earn and then they will spend more money, boosting the economy.  They favor fewer regulations on business, letting the "free market" determine the value of a product.  Similarly, they favor small government, fewer programs.  By doing this, Republicans believe that the individual is empowered to better his/her life, without dependence on the government.

It should be noted here that GWB broke from traditional conservative beliefs by increasing spending and increasing the size of the government.

  4. Issues like abortion, welfare programs, government spending, family values, g*y marriage, and how each defines these.
