the question is-

A water pump raises 50 litres of water through a height of 25 m in 5sec.Calculate the power which the pump supplies.(take g=10 N/kg and density of water =1000 kg/m)

u have to convert litres in kg..how do u do it???the answer should be 2500 W...i dont know the method

  1. 50 liters is how many cubic meters?  (The density given should be expressed in kg/m3 (cubed).  as it is mass per length cubed...


  2. Power(P)=Energy(U)/Time(t)

    P=U/t

    U=m*g*h

    1liter of water=1kg of mass

    P=50Kg*10m/s^2*25m/5sec

    P=2500W

    (if g=10m/s^2)
