i just recently started my baby on solids. she is six months and cannot tolerate any cereal due to her reflux. therefore, yogurt is the only thing that is working for her. i started her on carrots and today is day 3. i know im supposed to wait a few days before offering different foods; however, if i see that shes having problems with a food (like making her reflux start up a little) should i immediately stop the food or keep trying it for a few days to give her time to adjust?

  1. i would allow 2 -3 days but if it is really making it act up i would stop it. i heard that these really help with reflux. it is worth a look.

  2. If you encounter issue- hold off for a week or two, then try again.  If eating solids is making her uncomfortable, she'll start to associate solids with not feeling well and won't enjoy eating.  It doesn't "take time" for the body to adjust to solids.  They're either ready for it or not.  So, if you see issues arise, lay off for a few weeks and then try again.

    Good luck, ma!
