I am making a pouch for my rat to travel in, but she is such a small baby, that I want to make sure she has enough air holes. I was thinking a mesh fabric square somewhere on it, but am worried she may chew through. Any suggestions?

  1. Dont use fabric, dont use cardboard (since you havent said how long she'll be travelling in it for lol)

You can buy a small plastic storage box and cut out the sides and replace with wire.  Link below.

There are plenty of small animal carriers around, from small cat carriers, to actual rodent carriers, to hand bags designed for rodents if you're after something trendy and its only a small trip.

Make sure when travelling with your rat that you take water or have water in the carrier, spare bedding (if the water tips over or they get nevous and poo) and some food.  If its a long or stressful trip or its warm take food high in water content like cucumber or watermelon.

  2. i bought a very cheap travelling cage from a pet shop if the puch doesn't work check your local

make sure your pet has holes not to big for them to climb out i'm not sure about fabric as yes it may be chewable so be careful

    good luck travelling

  3. you can purchase reasonable carry gages for rats at pet stores, don't use fabric and make sure if using a small cage to transport your rat that the bars of the cage aren't wide enough for your rat to escape
