  1. if you have ever wired up a radio, it will be the same.  You should have 3 parts to put this together.  Wire harness, Mounting Kit and Antenna Adapter( gm antenna is stubby and needs an adapter to make universal, part is a metra part #GM6).

Take the wire harness you got from the radio and the gm wire harness and match them up color for color (red to red, yellow to yellow, etc.)

    Important!!!!!!!!!!

when you plug in the gm wire harness to the car, check to see if the RED WIRE on the gm harness that you plug in to the car has a coresponding wire on the Car Harness side.  If it does, then your radio will turn on when you turn the key.

If it does not, then your car does not have a ACCY wire on the car harness.  If you find this to be the case, you must extend the red radio harness wire and run that wire to the fuse block near the steering wheel, use a test light to find an accy fuse that turns on when you turn the key and off when you take the key out.  Tap that fuse by pulling out the fuse, wrap some wire around the fuse and put it back in.  Now, your radio will turn on when you turn the key and turn off when you take the key out.

Google the make and model of your dvd player to see how to bypass the parking brake safety feature to watch movies while you drive.

By the way, are you using a Flip Out Screen?  If your dash has the like this ledge sticking out above the radio location, will your screen Flip out and Clear the ledge?  Kenwood indash will work but most others with that kind of dash will not.  Some guys wind up leaveing the radio body sticking out like 2 inches and wrap the steel body with electric tape, (looks like c**p)

Otherwise,  good luck on you project

  2. The only additional thing that you'll need to do is hook up the parking brake wire. This wire makes it so you cannot watch movies while driving. When the parking brake is on, then you can watch movies. Hooking up your subwoofers will be the same also. Just run a set of RCAs from the back of the deck.
