  1. Put any work experience you have had at school, or in clubs, or for family (like chores)--like babysitting, or raking leaves, or anything that was your responsibility. List your school history and what extracurricular activities you have. List some references -- maybe a teacher, someone from your church, a neighbor.

  2. I used this resume writing service in my area, this is the email address, (resume.help50@yahoo.com) you should try them, it only cost me $35.00 and I got a great job from this new resume, I never thought about the format that they use but the turn around time was less then 24 hrs.  I would have to say it was the best service I have ever used and it was worth every dime.  Also they let me pay through paypal.

  3. Are you a member of any clubs, sports, or church activities? Or have you ever baby sat, mow yards or any other part time work that you got paid for. Most places know that most teen have little or no experience. Make sure they know your strengths. Maybe you are really good at research and the job you want requires research. Put something like Experience with internet research. Maybe the job requires a little writing. You could us your reports from school as experience. Let them know that you are experienced with Microsoft work or excel or powerpoint. Check out some sites for first time resumes. Also, Microsoft has an excellent resume maker. Good luck

  4. There are some great websites which have sample resumes. Here is one website which you might find useful, although it is Australian and may have a different structure to resumes there, it will give you some ideas on what to include.

Also, they may want a cover letter at the beginning of the resume to introduce yourself and let them know why you are writing and what the purpose is, eg.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing in order to express my interest in the position of Service Assistant at Fuel Kings as advertised on the 21st of August 2008. Three key reasons I am taking this opportunity are... (sell yourself a little and capture their attention so they just can't wait to read your resume!)

As for prior work experience (which doesn't have to have been a job since this is your first job), perhaps you may have done babysitting or housesitting or general cleaning and home duties. Perhaps school camps, competitions or anything that might relate to the skills required in the job you are applying for.

    Good luck!

  5. For a teenager, employers recognize that you wont have a lot of work history..list things like babysitting, yardwork for neighbors, volunteering, etc. List any clubs or outside activities that you are involved in. Also, you can list your goals and aspirations. This shows the employer you are dependable and you have goals for yourself.
