  4. I don't know all of these but Caitie's definately wrong on some of them... I think she just guessed to try to get the 10 points.

is actually true, Weismann at first accepted the theory of inheritance of aquired characters, but later actually became the first scientist to reject it fully and place all evolutionary change in the hands of natural selection.  "Even" Darwin accepted inheritance of acquired characters to a point.

is true too, fitness is relative due to the conditions on hand.  For instance,  if you live underwater gills would make you more fit.  On land, it's lungs. Fitness is not some perfect, attainable ideal- it is constantly changing as the environment around us changes.

is false, acquired characters are NOT inherited.  That is why people in a wheelchair have children that can walk.  Their acquired inability to walk is not passed on to their offspring.

is obviously true.  Why are the zebra mussels invading the great lakes? They were accidently transported their by man in ships' ballast water.  Man is responsible for many accidental introductions (another that comes to mind is rats on oceanic islands)

is false.  Palm trees cannot survive equally well in tropical and arctic climates, and neither can polar bears.  Species are specially adapted for the environment they are in, and can obviously survive their best.

again, true.   Maple trees are widely dispersed, but the Ohio buckeye is not.

is false, organisms are constantly under pressure from natural selection.  Even in thei native lands more favorable variations may arrive, and selection must at least keep organisms  "normal"

sure seems true.  House rats are everywhere.

seems true as well, especially using question 20 as a hint.
