  1. i, personally prefer Canon A1000 digital camera

  2. Check the last source link for a camera that may be just what you are looking for. This link shows the price and location. It does not have an optical view finder so you may not be able to see the LCD in bright sun.

Via the built-in USB port, the device can be connected to any normal computer, using the power supply from the USB bus to enable continuous operation. The DV-5000G can therefore be used as a full PC and web cam with VGA resolution (640 x 480) at 30 fps.

My camera has 5.2 mega pixel, but I use 3 most of the time because it gives great results, is faster, and takes less memory. Also, it only has a 3 x optical zoom and 7x digital zoom. I never use the digital zoom because making pictures larger works better on the computer. This is an old camera, but everyone is impressed with the quality pictures it takes ... like magic. Check with the Geeks in several stores and compare prices. Ask what cameras they own. Once you select a camera read all about it in the owner's manual.

Many of the new cameras come with only an LCD display. Would suggest that you find one that has an optical view finder because the LCD is almost impossible to see in bright sun.

Check this camera.  FUJIFILM - FinePix 10.0-Megapixel Digital. This is more camera for the money.

Wide-angle shooting, a 12x optical zoom and picture stabilization mode combine in this camera for exceptional shooting performance, even at a distance. Plentiful scene modes, autofocus and automatic white balance controls make this camera a snap to operate. Life time Warranty (Parts & Labor)

You may be able to find it on the Internet for a lower price.

This could be the best slim line camera.

The last source link will show you most of the old and new cameras available today.

The first source link will help you clean camera and battery electrical contacts.  Digital Cameras require lots of power.  If the contacts are not really good, it can cause lots of problems.

  3. go with Sony-DSC-S730

    Rs 7,400/-

This 7.2 mega pixel digital camera comes with a CCD sensor, 3x optical zoom and 6x digital zoom. It has a 2.4-inch large LCD screen and a self-timer. It has an inbuilt memory of 22MB and can be upgraded with a Memory Stick Duo or a Memory Stick Pro Duo. The camera works on two alkaline or Ni MH batteries which capture upto 440 images in one battery recharge. Battery Remaining Indicator, Histogram Indicator, Disk / Memory Stick Remaining Indicator are the unique features of this digital camera. It comes with a 1GB memory stick and a battery charger.

  4. i think the sony DSC-S730 is the good one

my brother also have the same one

  5. Sony DSC-S730.

  6. Cannon A470 its a good one

  7. They are all good.  You will have to test them to know which is best for you

Take a SD card with you to a store that sells them and then do some tests .  Test each at the highest ISO and widest and longest zoom setting as well as many of the features of each camera.

Then take the SD card home and look at the images on your nice large computer screen and see which performs the best in your opinion.  If your computer does not have a card reader, you will want to buy a USB card reader and later use it when copying image files to your computer from now on.

  8. As far as I know I never heard about Canon A470, it might be available in market. Anyways, first lets check the price factor:

Canon PowerShot A460 - will cost you at around Rs. 7,000/- (Approx.)

Nikon L-Series COOLPIX L10 - will cost you at around Rs. 6,400/- (Approx.)

    http://www.infibeam.com/SDP.action?catal...

Sony S Series DSC-S730 - will cost you at around Rs. 7,000/- (Approx.)

After doing comparison between above three models, I will go with Sony S Series DSC-S730, though it is bit costly but it has some unique features which other models don't have like - Centre Weighted Metering, Inbuilt Memory upto 22MB, Resolution (MegaPixel) 7.2, Digital Zoom upto 6, RGB Color Filter, LCD Size 2.4 inch, 3 Continuous Shots, total 440 shots.

Hope this information will help you selecting your best model. Thanks.
