Are the first layer/long underwear from burton and other brands like that for women really a good base layer and warm enough to go snowboarding? Or is something like northface much better to get? I really like the burton ones, they are cute, but I want something that when I'm up on the mountain is going to keep me warm. I have a good suit, pants and jacket and socks, but would like a better base layer then my leggings and just a long sleeve shirt. Thanks!!!!! Also, if you have any good websites to order from, or stores that I can get these by thursday

  1. it'll all be the same. dont worry

  2. Burton is good...so is Northface. No one is really going to see your under-layers...so the cuteness is up to you.

Personally, I'd check out Foursquare. Thats the only brand of under layer I wear.

  3. I use Under Armour cold gear and it works very well.  No one is going to see the base layer, so buying it based on looks alone is wasteful.

  4. You will spend a fortune on base layer gear from burton.   EVEN THO i love burton and ride burton. YOU will be fine if you go to wallmart and get some long johns.  The burton stuff is sick but for the money its not worth it !!

    Happy shredding

  5. Don't believe these answers - the base layer is very important. I don't know about Buron underwear, but just make sure that you DON'T WEAR COTTON against your skin like everyone is suggesting. If it gets wet, it will stay wet and you will be miserable. There are a lot of cheaper brands - Duofold, Hot Chillis, etc. if you are worried about money. I would bet that the Burton is great - I love my Burton clothes even thought I don't ride a Burton board.

    Good Luck

  6. Listen, Burton may be great for that stuff, and look cute, but honestly no one cares what you have underneath. I usually wear light sweatpants and snowboarding socks under my pants, and on top it's usually Nike Pro under-armor type stuff.. and a long sleeve shirt. i've also just used two long sleeve shirts and been fine. My jacket (Marmot) has a zip-in fleece liner (think north-face sweatshirt), so i don't need anythign else, but you may want to throw on a sweatshirt in addition to the shirts.

  7. I love Burton, but I also have Under Armour Cold Gear. Hot Chillies work great too. Just find something that has a wicking membrane. All of these will keep you warm cause they keep you dry.

  8. Go Merino..Its the only way. I riding in Northern Japan which gets down to minus 30 Celsius (-22F)...d**n cold. Merino is natural, doesn't itch, machine washable and doesn't stink like the Poly-prop ones do, and will be the warmest you can buy. You should be able to get it from mountaineering/outdoor stores. Look for a brand called Ice Breaker, they have cool colours and cute patterns if your planning on being seen in your underwear??
