My wife has a brown discharge and some off and on mild bleeding. The doctor told her that the baby didnt have a heartbeat and wasnt growning. She told them that she would wait for the baby to expel itself and she thinks it might happen without getting a D&C but isnt sure. Her body is sore like she has been working out. But she isnt cramping. Has anyone went through this? Do you know if she is about to expel the baby? Will she know when the baby comes out? She says she dont think she is having any blood clots and if she is they are very small. She also has alot of tissue coming out. What should she expect? Also does cramp feel like gas?

  1. Whew. First, I am very sorry to hear you are both going through this. How far along is she? If she is early in her pregnancy, there really isn't too much cramping while miscarrying. I guess it could feel like gas, again, if she is early. I know the cramping is much more extreme when someone miscarries further along. Also, it depends on how far she is whether she will know the exact moment she miscarries the actual embryo / fetus. I'm sorry to say that if she is expelling "alot" of tissue, she is probably miscarrying now.

Good luck to you both. My heart goes out to you.

EDIT: I just noticed that you asked this question about a week ago... surely she hasn't been bleeding for a week straight with tissue, right? If so, she should go today to the doctor / ER.

  2. Sounds like a miscarriage and she should listen to her doctor. Unfortunetly there is nothing we can do about it. All we can do is wish you both well for the next time you conceive. Best wishes.

  3. So sorry to hear this but im going through the same thing. I think i will have to get a d&c but im waiting awhile cause a d&c and cause a damaged uterus. If she is starting to bleed than she might be ok and not have to get a d&c unless there is tissue left in there.

  4. hun if the baby didnt make it they will do a d&nc and it does not feel good it will hurt and she might see it come out but it depends on how far she was? and my condolances go out to you and your wife
