Please help- the police called me house?

ok i got it all figured out. I guess yesterday when i went and paid for gas my credit card didn't go through and was denied ( becuase my husband got gas at the same station about 30 mins before me) but the guy inside still allowed me to pump my gas so i assumed it went through and was ok. I guess not and he called the cops and that's why. The police officer was really nice and just told me to call the gas station and i called them and so im just gonna go in tomorrow and pay. thank you everyone who answered.

You should just get in contact with him as soon as possible someone probably tried to make a fake license plate or something pertaining your car

and if he says no then dont talk to him ever again and if he keeps calling sue him for harassing you

If you called him back, did he not say what this was in reference to? Did you talk to anyone really?

Then maybe there is a report of a hit and run accident and someone said it was you. Stop sweating it unless you have done something.

Becareful it might be someon masquerading as a police man.  Call the police department in the next town over find out what he wants. If you have done nothing illegal you don't have anything to worry about.  If you have, say nothing until you consult an attorney.

FIRST make sure it was really the police.  Call the department from the next town over...ask to speak to a supervisor and question them regarding the "officer" that called your house.  NEXT..if this person calls you back..DO NOT go meet with them or invite them into your home.  You need to make sure that this isn't some sort of weirdo or prank.. GOOD LUCK!!  BE SAFE!!

Are you behind on your car payments and hiding it from the repo man? That would be one reason they are calling you. If not, I don't know.

this is weird i have never heard of this before. maybe i could have been a mix up or something. it cant be because you were speeding because the cop would have pulled you over when he was behind you. sounds like a new police brutality case.

Well, Maybe when you bought the car, you may have bought it from someone who had stolen it for quick cash. But..otherwise..I don't think police would do that unless there was a major situation regarding your car. I have been driving for..6ish years, and nothing like that has ever happened to me, except I had an unpaid ticket.

Maybe someone suspected of something has the same car you do. It's just a wild guess and I doubt it but it's not outside the realm of possibility. I don't really have enough info to go on. I hope it works out.
