I want to send a package to my best friend in America, which includes all sorts of Aussie foods, or even just foods you can't get in the US.

So far I've thought of:

Tim Tams

Vegemite

ANZAC biscuits

Weet Bix

What else?

  1. Kangaroo

  2. Pavlova.  Send them the ingredients (I believe some come in packet form?), include a recipe, and have them make it themselves!

  3. Castlemaine 4x

    Old Australia Stout

    Sheaf Stout

  4. Smoked Tasmanian devil and "Roo" on a stick

  5. lamingtons, coles or woolies usually have six packs in the bread section with or without jam, and as for hybrids suggestion yes they do have packed pav recipes,we get the ones in a egg shaped container and they come out d**n good! ( usually found in flour/spices row, been around for years ) think nobbys nuts are still oz owned not sure,or even kangaroo jerky! best of luck!

  6. Too bad you can't ship fruit, eh? I can almost taste some of the best fruit I've ever had there, some I'd never even heard of before.

TimTams are wonderful, almost as traditional as ANZAKs  if you're going commercial. Any of Arnott's  chocolate ones will do just fine. I'd eat a bite then a macadamia or cashew and feel the power! Then swill it down with delicious (?) Bundaberg Rum or some great Shiraz. Or with beer you make and can yourself at U Brew IT!

Send them a couple of 'roo steaks if you can and I believe the loverly crocodiles are fresh this time of year. Make sure to pack a pie or too!

And don't forget the best soft liquorice in the world - I must have eaten a kilo at one sitting. Urp!

    .

  7. Jatz biscuits are a good idea, Darrell Lee licorice, Darrell Lee Rocky Road (yes, they have it elsewhere but not near as good), Cadbury chocolate (anything), Milo, Yanks don't know what a Crumpet is either.

Crumpets and pilelets may be difficult because of the time factor.

When buying Vegie, get the tube - it packs easier.

I think a book of your local area, coasters, postcard, magnet, (if you live in a tourist area), toy koala, and a booklet with Aussie recipes (lamingtons, damper, Anzac cookies, pumpkin scones etc) are all good gft ideas too.

Be aware you may have to mortgage your house to pay Australia Post the postage!
