The Brits go on and on about the money sent to Ireland from private citizens in America to help their former country out seeing that they had been burtalised by their occupiers .What upsets them is some of this money was used by the I R A

When I lived over the pond many were angry at Americans I use to try and reason with them and told them,Ireland

was once a very poor country and we all know the reason for this,The U S government did not do this but they would have none of it

Now my point is ,the U K were trading with North Vietnam while we were at war with them our air force had to be careful of their ships ,this was done with the approval of their goverment to make money and yet we never talk of it Why do the English go on and on about what private American citizens did?

  1. Ray N - you`ve managed to string one or two (reasonably understandable) sentences together - you have obviously been taking your meds - well done y`all.

What if the British were trading with North Vietnam at the time of the "police action" (don`t forget Ray it was not a war as you Yanks like to remind us) so were a lot of other countries that were allied/friendly to the US.

Whats your beef with the British?

  2. Y A W N - (SOME) Yanks go on and on about how they saved us from the Germans (not), the commies (not), Bin Laden (not)... When are you gonna save yourself Yankee?

British navy ships picked up downed pilots from the sea during the Vietnam War. Members of the SAS trained certain US special forces during the Vietnam War. We allow the USA to use the UK as a giant US aircraft carrier to this day. WE saved your sorry arses during WWII by fighting from 1939 instead of waiting for you lot to kindly join us - what 2 years late? You were 3 years late for WW1. And for that, we thank you for F I N A L L Y showing yourself on the field of play. Oh yeah, and thanks for the c**p rusty destroyers you loaned to us during WW2, the poxy Sherman tanks that came nowhere near the Tiger 88, the Mustang - that WE put a Merlin engine in it to make it fly properly. AND the 40 trillion dollar loan that we fully paid you back last year. So yeah, we gotta lot to thank you Yankees for - hehehehe.

    Soz - Y A W N... What was your ridiculous question again spammo? S P A M = specially processed American Meat - YUK!

  3. One of the few good things Harold Wilson did was keep us out of the Vietnam War. As for support for the IRA  by mainly Irish Americans most of them were living on the stories their grandmother told them. What the average American knows or cares about the rest of the world could be written on a very small piece of paper. The less Americans say about their war on the Vietnamese the better since now they are rushing to tour and trade with them. So much for the lives of thousands of the young men who died fighting for politicians.

  4. ireland is part of the uk,thats the difference.

  5. i don't know but perhaps you should ask your Irish friends why they supported the n***s when both the USA and the UK were fighting a war against them ( even to the point of handing in a letter of condolence to the German embassy when Hitler died ) it's a strange world that's for sure.

  6. The war with Vietnam was both illegal and immoral.   Why should we break off relationships because of that?

  7. Which Brits?  The majority would have been really glad to be rid of the North of Ireland, and quite a few still would.

I know that American citizens' support for the Republican cause upset some Unionist fascists, but I really wouldn't  regard them as representative of anyone except themselves.

Remember also that during the Vietnam war, more people here supported the Vietnamese than supported your shoring up of a terrorist regime and your war crimes.

And finally, we violently resent your criminal record of economic warfare and bullying against the Cuban people, and your corruption of our political class and media.

The collaborators you have bought, Bodybag Brown and the others, may be your allies.  The rest of us are not.

  8. Good question Ray, and we will probably be answering similar questions in a hundred or two hundred years.

Do not look for reason, logic or ethics in politics or war!

During the First & Second World wars soldiers on all sides where kiling their "enemy", when in truth they had no malice towards their counterpart on the other side, but it was war and the politicians  told them to do it.

We have a saying in the UK about the First World war where the carnage was terrible, whilst the people taking the decicions where a safe distance away, that goes "Our troops where valiant, brave lions lead by donkeys".

The troubles in Northern Ireland where alledgedly a response to a battle that took place in 1667, almost 450 years ago, I think intelligent, civilised people should be able to sort out their differences in 450 years.

When we went to war with Argentina over the Falklands our fellow Europeans ,the French were selling Exocets to the Argentinians to kill and maim our soldiers.

You and I know two wrongs do not make a right, and to look back over history and identify hypocrisy and injustice serves no tangible purpose. What we can do is with our hearts and minds shout at the top of our voice that these obscenities are the undoing of all of us, and have no place in the future.

I also think its fair that the English have never forgotten how the GIs got all the good looking girls after WW11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck and best wishes .
