  1. Just stop in any town you think you like, if you are driving!  I would definitely stop at Nerja (possibly the nicest little town on the Costa del Sol...at least from what I´ve heard.  I've never been there, but you can let me know, k?)  And if you want a nice little town, Ronda...it's kind of inland, but in the Málaga  province.  One of my favorite places.  And Tarragona was really nice, lots of Roman Ruins.  Great amphitheater, there.

  2. From Málaga driving east on the A7 E15 motorway I would go first to Nerja, then La Herradura, from there to Marina del Este which is the most amazing little place if you can find it. From there head for Motril. Close to Motril I would head north in the direction of Granada. Not sure how far on that road there is a turning to Orgiva. If you love small towns in the mountains, then you will love Orgiva. THen head to Lanjarone (not sure of spelling), then to Granada and the Alhambra Palace. Granada will be fascinating. Then head for Guadix where you can visit Troglodyte homes (cave houses.) Then head for Almeria. Make sure you visit the town of Tabernus. Visit the sites of the Old Wild West movies. The Good the Bad & the Ugly & A Fistful of Dollars were made there. When you get to Almeria I would head to a gorgeous seaside town called Aguadulce. My advice would be to fly home from Almeria. What I have described is only brief. Believe me, you will find much more to do and see in your two weeks. You could of course fly return from Málaga. The journey from Almeria to Málaga along the coast road is absolutely stunning.

Read the book "Driving over lemons" by Chris Stewart. He moved to Spain 25 years ago to start a new life. It's his story about Orgiva. Chris Stewart was the first drummer with Genesis.

  3. I love the locals too! So if you're driving I would suggest stopping by these places:

malaga is definitely the place for beaches! try visiting morocco for a cultural experience!!

    Granada

Visit the Alhambra (even though its touristy, the place is beautiful!)  Valencia (i would suggest to find a backroad and just walk and get lost. i'm serious! that's what happened to me and i fell in love with valencia! try their local drink -- ocheta (i'm not sure about the spelling))
