Please help: which is overall the better car? 08 Altima 2.5 or 08 lancer gts?

i know the mileage for altima is a bit better than the lancer gts, espeically when gas prices are $4.5/gal

altima: 23 city /32highway

lancer gts: 21 city /28highway

but i want to know if i were to drive each car for..say, 10-15 years, which one do u think will satisfy me more for the money?

Altima. I know what the other guy is saying about the G20. Terrible cars.

But take a look around your street and and on the boulevards. What do you see?

You see altimas all over the place thats atleast 10 years old.

You should might as well get an Altima, its bigger more powerful, rides well and much faster. Although the lancer is smaller and more fun to drive, it doesnt have that guarantee to last long.

Even though i do not like Altimas, long term  they are almost as good as accords and camrys. Oh, also they have good resale value.

I'm going to be completely honest. When I bought my first car I thought it was going to last 10-15 years.  I took great care of it. Changed oil every 3k. Had it checked regularly as stated by the book.  Well the transmission died after 4 years.  It was a Mitsubishi.  Then I bought a Nissan/Infiniti G20.  Great car but gas was killing me even though it was 25mpg.  Now I don't care what car I get as long as it saves me money.  I'm looking into a Prius, Yaris or Echo.

Buy smart.  Don't let your social lifestyle get in the way of making a smart financial decision.
