  1. It is perfectly normal some babies have bigger appetite than others. Good luck and congratulationsxxxxx

  2. You have a very healthy hungry baby here.

You are also lucky that she goes 4 hours between feeds.

Try increasing her bottle with an extra scoop plus One extra water to the amount.

She is obviously thriving Bless her!

  3. Don't worry, she will only take what she needs X

  4. This is very normal. Any doctor will tell you to feed a baby every 4 hours. If she/he is drinking all of it then she is hungry especially if she keeps it down. Feed her, change he and she will be a happy baby. Don't forget to burp her or she will get a tummy ache.

Stop your worrying. ..If you still feel it's too much call your pediatrician.

  5. She's obviously just one of those hungry babies! Don't worry she will (or should) only take what she needs but if you're worried about the crying maybe its something else troubling her (like wind).  Ask your health visitor when she visits next.

  6. Speak to your health visitor, you might need to change onto hungrier baby milk.

  7. Yes that's fine, all babies are different. Some feed little and often, some, like yours have a larger amount but go for longer between feeds. Don't worry she'll only take what she needs. My son was exactly the same, he's 13 months now & still loves his food !

  8. I am going through the same thing with my 3 week old. Now he is only drinking 3 ounces sometimes. The Dr. said he is perfect so I'm sure it's normal.

  9. i have three children and were all greedy babies drinking 7-8 ounces every 4 hours they were fine and gained weight normally ....good luck

  10. You don't state her weight/birthweight

often as a basic guide they work out amounts based on size of the baby

e.g. my almost 3 week old was born 9lb 3oz and in hospital when he was poorly and had trouble breastfeeding I was advised to give him 2 oz of expressed milk every 2-3 hours topped up with breast milk if I could get him to latch on OK.

If she is a big baby that amount doesn't sound excessive at all but as someone else has said she would only take what she needs.

  11. Your baby is getting close to the 3 week growth spurt, its ok , if she wants to eat let her. She will let you know when she is full. Newborns tend to do this. They need all the nutrients they can get, remember they got plenty when they were in the womb, now they don't have that access and need to be fed more frequently.

    Congrats!!!

  12. lol well my daughter used to have the same every 2.5 hours at that age,dnt worry she jus growing- try giving her a dummy inbetween feeds.hope this helps x

  13. she will be fine. my daughter was drinkin 4 oz when she came home she is noe 3 months and drinkin 6 oz bottles she just has a big appetite. she fine just dont over feed her. when her stomach is hard than she is to full

  14. I think that is okay....if I remember correctly, right around 2 weeks is when they start eating more.

  15. My daughter drank a 4 oz bottle every 2 hours!  Imagine?  I was basically feeding her non stop because she took 1/2 hour to eat or more.  She is 4 now and skinny.  I think your baby might be hungry!

  16. If your giving her formula then you need to be giving her cooled boiled water in between each formula bottle, she could be thirsty also formula wont quench her thirst it will just make her even more thirsty, thats the beauty of breast feeding the milk changes to suit the babies needs, but as i said when i put my son onto bottles i would give him cooled boiled water in between xx

  17. No thats not too much.  New infants need to eat when they are hungry.  Don't deny her food.  My son ate every two hours until he was about a month old and then every three until 6 months.  Let her eat when she is hungry.

  18. Thats fine my son was the same he is 9 weeks old and takes 6-9 oz bottles every 4hrs.x

  19. my son has been eating as much since we got him home dont worry its perfectly normal.  oh and if its breast milk she may eat more then if its formula

  20. That's perfectly normal...she knows when she is hungry and when she isnt.

  21. Thats normal its not too much and Congrats!

  22. its ok hun she is just a hungry baby ... let her eat as much as she wants .!!

  23. my newborn was on 4oz from about 2 days old!!all babies are different  if you are concerned speak to your health visitor or midwife

  24. yeah this is normal a baby will only take what they need, my little girl used to take 4 oz every four hours at this age

  25. She is NOT drinking too much.  Feed on demand is my policy.  Newborns need to eat frequently.  At that age.... it is not uncommon to eat every hour or two.  My son was eatting about 8-12 times a day.  Their stomach are very tiny.... and can only hold so much.   I personally would try and she if she would eat a little more freqently.  Newborn babies cannot eat to much.  When they are hungry..... they NEED to be fed!

  26. That is a lot but every baby is different.  Saying that I used to feed my baby every couple of hours.  As long as she is happy and putting on weight you shouldn't worry.

  27. Let her eat! Babies know more then we give them credit for. Is she spitting up alot after eatting? This could be why she wants to keep eating.

  28. This is perfectly normal for a healthy baby. Infants are growing at a very rapid pace and need a lot of energy--especially for their brain development!

  29. thats sounds about right 2 oz every 2 hours and you really cant put babies time it's not right some babies eat more that doesnt mean there fat or over eatting if it's not 8 oz i wouldnt worry plus it's every 4 hrs thats normal my son was drinking 6 and every 3 to 4 hours you should be happy at least it's spead out and not every hr like some moms go though.
