"You are a mustard seed. You are writing a letter to auxins and cytokinins about their effect on your development into a fully formed plant. You must trace you entire lifecycle from germination to maturity."

  1. This seems more like an exercise in creative writing than one in biology knowledge.  And I am not sure what the difference is between an "answer" and an answer.

But anyways, I would simply list the steps of the plant lifecycle (germination, growth, differentiation, sexual development, etc.) and list the activities of the hormones next to each step.  Surely your book must have a chart like this?  If not, I think it would only take a few minutes to make one.

    Then start your letter:

    "Dear Auxins and Cytokinins,

As I sit here waiting to germinate, I am thinking of the impacts you will have on so many stages of my life.

In those first few days, as I quicken with life and germinate, I know you, auxins, will lead me to ...

And you, my dearest cytokinins, will help me along with ...

And later as I grow my vegetative structures, you will ... "

Once you get into the character, I think it will role [sic] right along.

    Good luck!
