What I need:

I was wondering how to make the pink lettering on this sign?

http://www.partyspot.com/odb/PhotoDetail.aspx?id=8193&pageIndex=13&

I was going to make the black part out of cardboard or poster board but I dont know how to make the pink letters stick out is their a kind of thick foam board or something I could use? I dont want to spend too much.

Also how to make the Party Hall more Like a Spa/Beauty Area. Because the Chairs are just fold out meal kinds.

Also any other Decorative ideas would be great!

  1. You are so wonderful to do this for a girl who has always had family birthday parties, but never one with her friends! And she's not even your niece! You are the bomb! Anyway, my one piece of advice is not to sweat the sign too much. It looks like it is made from letters cut from styrofoam and that is messy and hard to work with. How about tracing big fat letters on to the black poster board, covering the letters with glue, and sprinkling pink glitter or sequins on them? Now glitter can be a little pricey and you'd need quite a bit so you may want to take two or three cups of uncooked, dry white rice, put it in a baggie with a little bit of hot pink poster paint, rattle it around till the rice is pink, then pour it into one or two of those 9x13 inch pans or rimmed cookis sheets or whatever and leave them out to dry. This party sounds like so much fun! remember to take a picture of YOURSELF at the party so that you can show your 12 year old daughter when you have one!
