the problem is

6/15 = n/20

how would you solve for n using cross multiplication?

please explain the process.

  1. to solve using cross multiplication take 6 times 20

    and 15 times 'n'

    this gives you 120=15n

    now divide giving you 8

    n=8


  2. Multiply 6 by 20 and divide by 15

    n=8

  3. well first you just put them lined up, then cross multiply. so you would get 120=15n then divide both sides by 15 so you can leave alone the n.

    that would result 8=n

  4. n=8

  5. Multiply 6 by 20.

    Then divide the product by 15.

    The solution = n.
