  1. you need to have a friend spot you the first few times you fall back into the bridge. its easy really just getting over the fact that you will fall straight back lol. but reach with your hands as you are going back and down.dont throw yourself back...just bend and fall. act like you are going to try to grab the back of your ankles when you go back (but dont!! lol, just to give you an idea of how to reach). then once your there in the bridge...kick off with one foot and push your legs over. again best with a person there to help you in case you fall...let you get used to it first. and also they can help push your legs over if you dont kick off hard enough. practice!!

  2. learn the backbend/bridge first. start by lying on the ground and pushing up into a bridge. get comfortable with the position and supporting your weight.

after mastering that, try standing with your back to a wall and then lean back and touch the wall with hands and slowing walk your hands down the wall until you end up in a bridge on the floor. also practice walking back up the wall.

**use this wall exercise to help you learn to control and support your own weight going down and up from a bridge position. this is important to prevent crashing into the floor and injuring your head/neck.

when you get good at that, you can probably try standing away from the wall and doing the bridge from a standing position. this should be slow and controlled.

once you've got the bridge down, practice kicking over. to learn the kick over you can push up into a bridge from the floor in front of a step and then put your feet on the step and use it to help you kick over. it's all about timing and thrusting your shoulders forward over your hands at the same time as the kick.

i strongly suggest safety first---mats/padding, someone who knows how to spot, anything to make it safer while you learn. it's very easy to get injured (and injured badly) doing gymnastics, especially outside the proper learning environment.
