Please help with combination of function?

Question

f(x)= (3,5) (2,4) (1,7)

g(x) = sqrt x-3

h(x) = (3,2) (4,3) (1,6)

k(x)= x^2 +5

i have to combine the functions for certain equations and i dont know how to combine them if all the functions are not the same type please help...

1) (f+g)(1)

2) (k-g)(5)

Answer 1

1)  (f + g)(1) = f(1) + g(1) = 7 + [√1 - 3) = 7 + (1 - 3) = 5

2)  (k - g)(5) = k(5) - g(5) = [(5)² + 5] - [√5 - 3] = 30 - √5 + 3 = 33 - √5
