  1. Ok im not a vet but for about 8 years of my life i loved animals and was always helping vets for free, I've noticed that when animals don't eat usually they are sad or have lost someone. There were these 2 dogs that always came to a vet and one got hit by a car and died so the other dog refused to eat and died because he was sad. Maybe if you have lost a a pet recently? It doesn't matter what kind of animal even a dog, You don't think they would interact but they do. Also that happened on Where The Red Furn Grows and it was based on a true story. Otherwise if you don't have other pets he might be sad from something. Or sick enough that he might have strep & he doesn't want to eat cuz his throat hurts. Best of luck!

  2. Believe me I'm no expert but leopard gecko's are solitary animals and do not need companionship and probably wouldn't feel any sense of loss if you had another one that died. They are just too simple of creatures. If I were you, I'd be freakin out too. I also have a gecko , and I dunno exactly what I would do, but maybe see if it will take the food from your hand. You might wanna take it back to the vet. If its been having this skin problem, and now won't eat, it's probable pretty sick. If you haven't fed it for a day or two, maybe give it a couple more days and see if it will start eating again. Just a few ideas. Sorry I couldn't help you more.

  3. put the mix or mush his food with water and use a suction thingy. put the food and mix stuff in the suction (like an eye dropper or something) and put it down his throat

  4. Okay... am I doing drugs, or what?  What are all these answers you are getting about a mourning gecko, and another?!!  I do not see a single thing about two gecko in this question!

Am I missing an additional comment, and it's the net?

For one.. if it's a shedding issue, it's humidity or dietary.  I have no clue what the sores are, or the l*****g, but iodine without soaks is going to cause worse humidity/drying woes.

Did the vet tell you to soak this animal?

Are these bites from another animal?  If so, spearate them immediately (again, am I missing a post/additional here, and what's the talk of it dying?).

First off, calm down.  A gecko in stress/bad health won't eat.  So, did this vet give you a high protein powder to mix with water and feed him with a syringe till he's feeling better?  And show you how, so you don't aspirate him (drown him with the food)?

What ARE the sores?  The vet should have done a culture, and had an answer for you, if they weren't caused by bites from another animal.  Open wounds/scabs on a Leo are not a normal thing.

(I feel like I'm blind here, trying to help!  I see NO mention of another animal, but there seems to be one based on your other answers!)

First things to know are care.  How is he housed?  What's the substrate, and does he have a moisture hide?

I don't want him to die any more than you do!  But I can't deal with this posting it would seem.

Please email me at oxo_sensual_oxo@yahoo.com and give me the details about your gecko, and the mystery other.

I will do all I can to help you.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help with this posting.
