Please help with my tank?

Question

how many fish can i put in a 20 gallon tank, i wanna put like 15 black neon tetras, 5 guppys and like 3 platys is that ok?

Yes that is fine... But just a word of warning guppies are fast breeders so just make sure they are all male, its not hard the males are the ones with the colorful tails and the females are a dull gray color.

In the pet store the females are kept in different tank for this reason.

the best one to answer this is the person who is going to sell you the fish go to your local pet place and talk to them they will tell you everything you need to know about owning and up keep on a fish tank

Could I persuade you to something else? How about 8 to 10 black neons, 2 guppies, 2 or 3 platies, 2 corydoras ( they eat flakes that fall to the bottom, so thus eliminating alot of algae) and if you have trouble with algae get 1 pleco. Hope I helped! p.s. that might work up there what you have, but you should probably minus a couple of tetras.

i would go for 10 black neon tetras,5 guppies and 3 platies,but be carefull as guppies are fast breeders  like platies but guppies have babies every 28 days which will result you to be over stocked in your tank hope this helps u out and good luck
