ok, so im really stressing about this. i want to join the staff for this literary magazine at my high school, and i have an application. theres just one part that i dont know what to do with. i have to attach three pieces of my work that illustrates my particular talent. i am talented when it comes to writing, but because the application is due the day after tommorrow, i would have to write three short stories (thats what im good at) in a day! and then i'd have to make them really good, too. im trying, but i dont know what i can do if it doesnt work out. i really do want to join this thing.

i dont have any of my good and current work with me at the time.

please give me any inspiration for a short story, or advice.

  1. sometimes asking you "what if?" helps you to think of really good ideas, like what if life was a video game or something like that. Also, sometimes thinking of a really random interesting name, say Sonya Bella (lol i just made that up now) ask yourself what does she look like? How does she walk/talk? Who are her friends? What are her dreams? What are her secrets? This helps too.

Good luck and I hope I helped.

  2. Can't you pass poems instead of short stories? Good short stories need tons of revisions and you don't have time for it.
