  1. Work from right to left.  You need 4 in the last place so .624.  To make a 5 in the next to last, you need a 3 and thus 9.13  (etc)


  2. To get the 4 at the end, you have to have 0.624

    Then to get the 5 in the hundredths place you need 3 more hundredths so that comes from 9.13.  But now there are 7 tenths and you need only 6 so 9 tenths must be added making it 32.9 and the 477 stays as it is.

  3. In order to get a 4 in the third decimal place you must have .624 since no other number ends in 4.

    519.654 - 0.642 = 519.03

    Now we must have 9.13 since no other number ends in 3

    519.03 - 9.13 = 509.9

    509.9 - 32.9 = 477

    So it's 32.9, 9.13, 477, 0.624
