  1. (5/2)k=5

    first you get rid of 5/2.. by inverse. WHAT YOU DO TO ONE SIDE YOU HAVE TO DO TO THE OTHER*

    so

    2/5 * 5/2K=5 * 2/5

    k=10/5

    k=2

    -4/5p=2/3

    so multiply by the inverse like the first one...

    -5/4 * -4/5 ; = 2/3 * -5/4

    p = -10/12 which reduces to -5/6

    getting the hang of it? =]

    so this one just has the variable on the other side, but you can just change aka flip it

    so

    -1/3q=2/3

    mult. by inverse

    -3/1 equals negative three.

    so -3* -1/3 q = 2/3 * -3

    the threes cancel out so its

    negative two.

    2/3*-3/1

    -2/1 is -2

    q=-2

    -3/4a=-5/8

    -4/3 * -3/4a=-5/8* -4/3

    a= -20/24

    -5/6=a

    i mentally checked them but make sure you check them and do them yourself b/c i may have made a mistake. i dont think i did though.

    good luck i hope i explained it well!!! and i'll email you if you dont understand jsut write your email!

    its really easy once you figure it out!

  2. 5/2k = 5

    k = 5 ÷ 5/2

    k = 5 * 2/5

    k = 10/5

    k = 2

    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

    -4/5p = 2/3

    p = 2/3 ÷ (-4/5)

    p = 2/3 * -(5/4)

    p = -10/12

    p = -5/6

    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

    2/3 = -1/3q

    -1/3q = 2/3

    q = 2/3 ÷ -1/3

    q = 2/3 * -3

    q = -6/3

    q = -2

    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

    -5/8 = -3/4a

    -3/4a = -5/8

    a = -5/8 ÷ -3/4

    a = -5/8 * -4/3

    a = 20/24

    a = 5/6

    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

  3. 5/2k = 5

    5/2 is equivalent to 2.5

    so... 2.5k=5

    k=2

    check it by putting two in to the equation.

    5/2(2)=5

    -4/5p = 2/3

    i would make the denominators the same first.

    so... the least common denominator is 15.

    5x3=15

    -4x3=-12

    3x5=15

    2x5=10

    now your equation is...

    -12/15p=10/15

    you know that p must equal a - to make the result a pos num.

    you can figure 12/15->10/15.....10/12->5/6

    the answer must be neg so -5/6 is the answer.

    2/3 = -1/3q

    this one is fairly simple, you must get the -1 to a pos 2.

    the only way to do this would be to multiply it by a neg 2.

    so the answer is...

    -2

    -5/8 = -3/4a

    change the denomenator to 8.

    -5/8=-6/8a

    take the numerator from each and your answer is -5/6.

    You can plug it in to check.

    Good Luck!

    About that best answer thing, the offer still exhists, right???

    Just kidding, hope that helped to clear things up a bit!

  4. Here is what I interpret these to be - I supply parenthesis to remove any ambiguity.

    (5)/(2k) = 5

    Multiply both sides by (1/5)k to get

    k=1/2

    (-4)/(5p)=2/3

    Multiply both sides by (3/2)p to get

    -(4/5)*(3/2)=p=(-6/5)

    2/3=(-1)/(3q)

    Multiply both sides by (3/2)q to get

    q=(-1/2)

    -5/8 = (-3)/(4a)

    Multiply both sides by (-8/5)a

    to get

    a=(-3/4)*(-8/5)=24/20=6/5

  5. Please don't do these to get the best answer.

    We are trying to be helpful.

  6. K = 2

    p = -5/6

    q = -2

    a = 5/6
