Like all little girls I dreamt about finding my prince and marrying him and when I met you I found all this and so much more. I found my soul mate and my best friend in you.

When I met you my life became completed and I finally felt like I had someone to call my own.

The love I feel for you is on another level to anything I have known and today as we stand before all these people who we love and care about I want to promise you these things.

• I promise to grow with you and not against you

• I promise to let you play call of duty at least 3 times a week

• I promise to open the doors to communication whenever I feel we need to talk

• I promise to love and respect you for who you are

• I promise to stand by you during the hard times as well as the good

• I promise to make your favourite white hot chocolate whenever you want

• I promise to be the best that I can be as an individual, as your friend and as your wife

• I promise to do everything I can to make you happy

I promise you these things because I love you

  1. Hey Miss Lawless to be Congrats! Ignore the cynics on here  . WHen i got engaged i had loads of negative comments but I dont care, people can be soooo doom and gloom. Anyway I think your vows are fab - i think the hot choc and the game thing are great personal and add a lightened touch, why should vows just be all smoozy some people are to square and uptight ignore them and say what you want to say, it will be more meaningful and personal rather than just the usual i promise to love honour and obey you c**p! Good luck! x

  2. Those are really sweet!

My uncle read out his own wedding vows to his wife - the whole family were in tears.

I love "traditional" weddings too, but it makes that already special day even more special when the words come from the heart.

If you can read that in the church/registry office without shedding a tear you are a thick-skinned woman!

Congratulations and I hope your day goes perfectly!

  3. i think your wedding vows are great. i'm about to renew my wedding vows we went for traditonal on our wedding day but now i'm doing something similar to that. making it real personal for us. as long as you don't give up easy you could make it. it is going on eight years for my husband and i and we have been through h**l and back and i would not let my husband go for anything.

  4. Personally I chose traditional vows but each to there own!  I like them all except for these:

    • I promise to make your favourite white hot chocolate whenever you want

    • I promise to let you play call of duty at least 3 times a week

They may be important to you but they are trivial in what is a very serious commitment.

I also doubt you will remember all of that on the day of your wedding I know I was to emotional to have done so.

  5. They're perfect! Weldone! They really are beautiful. Don't change anything. I bet you'll have the groom crying!

  6. When I met you my life became COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    NOT!!!!!!

When I met you my life became COMPLETED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. The divorce rate is 50% so..................

    ..................GREAT LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  7. They are great!! Don't let anyone tell you what you should or shouldn't have at your wedding. These vows are personal to you and your husband to be and, as the day is about the union of both of you, that is how it should be.

Congratulations to you both and I hope you have a great wediing day and a wonderful life together.

  8. Those are great! The fact that you threw in some humor is even better. As a guy, I would be blessed to hear that.

I wish you the best and have a great life with him.

Plus I recommend a wireless controller for Call of Duty. You can throw it at him from a distance when you kick his butt.

  9. Actions speak louder than words. Weddings are are total waste of money. You would be better off with a Registry Office marriage and put the saved money to better use. It's a shame that you youngsters are brainwashed into the 'white wedding' cr*p. It's all part of the establishment's plan to separate as much cash from you and/or your parents as possible. Live together first to see if it works. So many divorces proves it's a lottery.

  10. Just because someone said to be light hearted, I wouldn't want my wedding to be a joke...but they sound good with the exception of the call of duty and hot chocolate.

  11. Sounds okay...I hope you can make it through them okay!  I wouldn't have been able to on my wedding day!
