Please help!handycam dcr-dvd405?

Question

i recently bout the handcam dcr-dvd405 off a friend,according to my friend it had never been used...i bought "mini dvd+r dl"disk so i can start recording asap..but the camera keeps saying there is a disk error!I've putting in the other way the right way,i tried everything and still there is an error..could it be that i bought the wrong disk for it,even though the girl from the store said those would work?help me please!

Guess why they sold it to you...

All DVD camcorders should fall off the face of the earth.

According to the Sony product site, the media this camera uses is: "8cm DVD (DVD-R/DVD-RW/DVD+RW)"

see page 16... +R is not supported.

It doesn't really matter, anyway. the quality of the video will not be very good... especially if you think you want to get the video to your computer and edit or upload somewhere...
