I have a quad core E6600 and it is running at an average of 89 C when i check the sensors with linux.

  1. I had a very similar problem w/a dual-core.  I simply added a couple of fans.  Make sure your case can accomodate the fans, get you a couple (they're cheap), and see if that solves your problem.

    Also if you have the slots, you might try moving the PCI away from each other.  Might help, might not...but it's worth a shot.

    If all else fails, you can do some advanced cooling.  You can check at:

  3. If there isn't a fan on the cpu it is over heating.

    Just buy one for under a fiver on hardwareversand.de
