if you are completely deaf in one ear, can the military draft you??

first of all there is not currently a draft in the united states.  second, wearing glasses isnt a big deal (im in the army and i need glasses all the time) but being deaf in one ear would disqualify him and so does being in college.  and lastly, i highly doubt we would go to war with russia anyways.  we already have enough problems in iraq and afghanistan and going to war with a global superpower would not be in our best interests.  so basically,  you and your boyfriend have nothing to worry about.

one more thing though:  even though the united states doesnt have a draft your boyfriend along with every male when they turn 18, still have to register for the draft.

if he was in college during a draft he would be disqualified. Also if he was too fat. So tell him to stay in college forever and get real fat.

Okay, here are the facts -

1.  There is no draft and they aren't going to start one.  There is a total lack of public and congressional support for it.

2.  Even if there was a draft they wouldn't take a guy who is deaf in one ear.

Tell you boyfriend he should be worrying about what to buy you for your birthday.

Don't worry...my husband volunteered so your boyfriend wouldn't get drafted. There is no draft in the United States of America and there probably never will be. Aside from that, your boyfriend is useless to the military because he is handicapped (hearing impaired). You just enjoy your freedom girly.

If you doubt this, do a bit of research on news stories during the '04 election.  BUSH WILL RE INSTITUTE THE DRAFT.  Well, 4 years later, and no draft.  Don't worry.  

And the way I look at it, if we are so hard pressed and must re-institute the draft.  Our country is in grave danger, and every able bodied man (yes I said man) should be more than willing to defend his country.  A draft will not come just because Bush or any 'evil conservative' wants it.  It will take massive legal review and approval by all on the capital.  And if you can ever get the Republicrats and Democrins to agree on the need for a draft, dire times are ahead.

All males over 18 must register with teh selective service.  This means if there is a draft, they can be drafted.

However, if you are deaf in one ear, you are disqualified from the draft because you may miss important orders.

He will not be drafted.
