Give an example of how you could use symmetry to find side lengths and angle measures of a geometric figure.

  1. well, if you have a triangle that is symmetrical through any of its vertices you know a few things about the triangle: all of its sides are equal in length, and therefore it's an equilateral triangle. if they weren't equal in length, it wouldn't be symmetrical through EACH vertice. since all its side length are equal, and you know that the interior angles of a triangle add up to 180, you know all the angles must be equal, and therefore each angle is 60 degrees.
