  1. No, it's a completely different thing.

If you're a CPA or a CA (in Canada), you can clean up in terms of making money. Passing the exams is quite difficult, and they in fact use a ruthless cut-off mark in passing students.

To me (I work in the financial sector), it sounds like you really don't have any passion for finance. If you have no passion for this type of work, DON'T do it. You'll end up sucking at it and hating yourself.

People who work in finance (the good ones), tend to become very arrogant, self-centered narcissists over time. I've turned into an a**hole myself. And I don't even care, is the worst part.

  2. Financial mangers can be accountants as well.

The two disciplines are separate but still deal with the financial arrangements and their investments.

Financial managers today are strictly controlled and licenced in order to ensure that the public get good unbiased information. Previously scams ruined lives so these measure were put in place.

The world of accountants and financial managers is serious and I am afraid the job does no have the same 'fun' element as say being a children's party host or a premier league footballer.

The mere mention of the word accountant and financial manger conjures up images of grey suited men and women frowning of thick glasses. Dealing with people's money means dealing with death, estates other very serious business. Doesn't sound like a barrel 'o laughs to me.

If you have a tendency to depressionn it may be easy for you to fit in here. If you are a bubbly slightly noisy fun loving type your spirits will be dampened by the seriousness of the people and the work. Eventually you will become a grey suited person frowning over thick glasses.

  3. Well you may do.

  4. i study accounting!

    well actually am almost done!

but i've worked in finance! and its so muhc more interesting!

accounting is more logical tho! and i find it easy!
