I dreamt that I was going somewhere very important (not sure exactly where it was) and I was running very late. Every time I tried to get where I was going SOMETHING would always get in the way to distract me. Finally, by brother showed up in a huge minivan to pick me up and take me to my destination and I was so happy to see him. He started to drive when suddenly he stopped and refused to drive any further. I started to cry very loud like a baby (I'm 26 yrs old!) tears flowing down my face and I got out of the car, slammed the door shut and attempted to walk to my destination. My brother just stared blankly at me. I knew for sure that I was going to be late now and I couldn't do anything about it. What do you think this means,,,? At the moment, in my life, I'm trying to move on in certain areas of my life......and yes, like the dream, things keep getting in the way........

  1. it just means your not focus enough to go and move on.with your brother in it, you guys either may have sumthing u havent settled yet before or you're just longing for your brother either he's so close to your heart or you just missed him so much that your subconscious side want to be with him.

  2. In a sense time is always against us, whether its the weekend going to fast, a friend in town to visit, or just the fact that we are always approaching death.

I see the being afraid to be running late as a very literal race against time for you, whether it is in the short term (things you should do before, i don't know, college is over, before you move, etc.) or whether its because you have a higher death awareness which stimulates your existential desperateness to live a meaningful life.

The dream indicates feelings of not being able to do it on your own, of needing a push, the desire for someone else to motivate you or carry you along on their ride, or to show you the way. You call upon your brother in the dream, but cruelly, even in your dream you know that it is really only something you can do on your own.

This dream is oozing with existential issues, from death/time, to responsibility (decision making, doing things on your own) and isolation (you have to face death/time on your own and nobody can help you make the decisions about your life. The one part missing from the occasion then is "willing". You have to develop the will to make these decisions or changes about your life: how to get there, how to take advantage of your time and what the destination is.

  3. It sounds like to me that there is big change going on. Fear has settled in to make you think that you won't be able to Live the life you want, or need. Your brother in the minivan, that resembles the fact that even the closest people to you may hurt you down the road. Time to meet new people, surround yourself with true friends that will help you out no matter what.

I gave my life over to Jesus Christ, and I know he provides all my needs. If you keep your priorities first above all else, then all else will follow. If you want to talk more, email me.

I pray that God will give you peace and more understanding, and the fear of life will be cast aside.

  4. You are running to God but you let the things of this world come between you. Your brother in christ has lifted you up in prayer(picked you up). Your attitude has stopped you from going any farther.(slammed the door shut). Repentence will open it again!

    God bless you.
