Question:

Please judge the confirmation of this horse

I am looking to buy a young horse to train for reining and cutting. While horse hunting I found this little filly and the owners are willing to make me an awesome, dirt cheap deal. Problem is, I keep looking at her and think something is wrong with her confirmation but I can't pinpoint it. Am I just nuts or is something wrong? And if so, what is it?

  1. i think once she has been broke and gets fit , and is fed better . her confermation will fill out more , and her coat will look healthier . And she will be a nice pony . shes not looking so great now , but i understand why . and she will come along great , with a good rider and right care.

  2. her shoulders look too big for the rest of her body and she's long backed! haha but that's no big deal.

before you buy her MAKE SURE you get her vet checked.

you never know what could be wrong with her until you get that done.

  3. It's a beautiful horse

  4. He is very pretty, he could have more muscle on him, or it may be becuase my horse is skinny and has hips, but he needs more muscle

  5. easy she has a eue kneck which has caused her back to drop from poor training...if u buy her she will need to go in a VERY FRIENDLY bit to encourage her to lower her head and she will need to be working in a frame so proper training can be introduced, if not then she will be hard to mount and will devlop(if she hasnt already)a cold back and will most likley be a prancer where she wants to spurt forward with even a slight touch of leg or you will have to fight her mouth to get her back a little and both are a bad thing on ur part so if u get her she will need proper training

  6. I think her front legs are a bit shorter than usual.

  7. The very first thing i would like to say is that her legs are WAY too short for reining or cutting. longer legs are always beneficial in events such as these. Another thing i don't like is her ewe neck and her face. her face is not a problem.. but it isn't pretty at all. She has a VERY short neck and a VERY long body. they are not proportionate at all!

  8. She's built upside down. She's got an ewe neck, and a really poor topline - partially because she's too long, and the rest because she's built pretty dowhill. The short neck and straight shoulder don't help her at all either.

Not what I'd consider an athlete in the making.

  9. I'm not much good at this, but i noticed that her back end is higher than her front end. I would be bothered about that if she were older but it is perfectly normal for a young horse to build up their back end before the front.
