Ok so I have this project where I have to pick an influential American that cannot be a President and must be dead and then I have to dress up as them and present an essay to my teacher. It can be any American from a politician to a musician. What are some good suggestions?

  1. Hey Zach, interesting assignment.  I'd say Edgar Allan Poe, who was a great author but had a difficult life.  He was well respected as a writer and critic, but had a terrible drug problem and couldn't stay sober.  If he only had rehab, maybe he would have gone on to greatness in life too.

    Nathaniel Hawthorne or Herman Melville

Cornelius Vanderbilt or John Jacob Astor

    Jesse James or Al Capone

    Fatty Arbuckle or Buster Keaton

    Laurence Olivier or John Gielgud

These are choices of a great many people, influential for a variety of reasons.  If you need help deciding what to do or how to dress to depict your character, I will gladly help.  Email any time. I think this is a great assignment.  When is it due?

  2. Dress up like

    Elvis Presley (music)

Robert E. Lee (civil war general for the South, never a president)

Mark Twain aka Samuel Clemens (great author)

  3. Neil Armstrong (first man on the moon)

    Charles Lindbergh

    More recent deaths, Charlton Heston

  4. http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200612/in...

here's a great site, it does include presidents, but also many others!

  5. General Patton is a very good one, and you can dress up in an army uniform...

Or there is Major d**k Winters-c**p I dont think he is dead yet, but his book  Beyond Band of Brothers is very good
