Previous answerer was correct - you can check a company through the UK government site, Companies House.

I did a quick check and nothing came up, but may be worth a little more investigation to find out if they are UK registered or not...

not tried this my self but i would say companies house must have a web site that you can search on to find this out. or you could try google but i would say it might be a spam e-mail as i would think they have .com or .co.uk e-mail addys beeing a company not a yahoo.
