  1. I was due with a baby boy oct 13th last yr! He's now 10 months old! =D Anyways, with the baby dropping, im not sure since I felt like i was in pain the whole time the last few wks. haha. and the mucus plug, if u see it, can look like a blob of snot. . nasty i know and it can have pink stuff in it. google it and people have pictures of it. I lost mine in pieces and still didn't go into labor for weeeks. I walked around 3 cm dilated for 2 weeks also :) Gooood luck! It goes by sooooo fast!

  2. I knew by the way I was sitting on a chair or couch that my belly was coming forward and it hurt me for a good month or more.  I went for walks to help with the labor.  My first child was born within 4 hours of the first onset of contractions.   I don't remember seeing the plug with either of my kids being born.   I would also like to suggest that you try doing some exercises to help strengthen your back.  Stand at the sink or use a chair with your hands hanging on and do a squat - like you are about to sit down.  Do this for a few minutes till you feel that the pain is gone.  Congrats!

  3. You'll realize the baby has dropped because your belly will not be sticking out as far in front when you look down at your feet.  And the baby will feel like it is lower, maybe like it is ready to fall out of you.  And the mucus plug...I never saw that.  I think it is supposed to be within a few days of birth, but I was never aware of anything like that.

  4. some people lose the plug slowly. it can happen any time really because it can regenerate if it comes out too early anyway. with my daughter i lost it about 4 days before labor. this one i'm a week over and still havent lost it. mine with my daughter was like a mucus plug sounds like it looks like, kinda stringy and mucusy.

  5. well your mucous plug looks like a blob of mucous. It can be clear or even brown or pink tinged. It can come out all at once or in little bits over a couple of days. Some women don't even experience losing it. I have 3 kids and didn't with the last one.  It just means your body is preparing for the big day. When you lose it,  it could be anywhere from that day or 3 weeks away that you go into labor. When my boys "dropped" I didn't feel it happen all of a sudden, I just noticed alot of pressure and heaviness especially when I stood up. And I could tell they had bc the pressure on my ribs was better and I could breathe..lol. When you drop your Dr. will more than likely tell you. A first time mother usually drops 2-4 weeks b4 delivery.  Hang in there!!!

  6. You normally don't drop for a couple more weeks...you'll notice that you are able to breath easier because the baby isn't up in your lungs' space :o)

When you lose your mucus plug, you will notice a blob of what looks like really think snot (excuse the crudeness).  It may be in your underwear, on the TP when you wipe, or possibly in the shower.  I went into labor within 24 hours of losing my mucous plug with my first 2 babies, and within 5 days with my 3rd.

    Good luck!

  7. when the baby drops, you will feel mostly alot of pressure in your pelvic area, also increased need to pee as well. For some women it is mildly uncomfortable and for other it is agonizing. and yes your back will hurt. Sometimes it can feel as if the baby is going to fall out but dont worry..it wont!!! Try to stay off your feet as much as you can and it will help the pressure ease off a bit, but there will be pressure from now until you deliver. As for the mucus plug, some women never see it, but if you do, it looks like a thick sort of blob of white discharge, it may be stringy as well, and you may notice it to have a bit of blood in it also. It may come out all at once or over the course of a few days to a week...hope this helps and good luck!!!

  8. well i felt relieved when my baby dropped, then her feet werent always jammed up in my ribs.your musuc plug will be really really thick, sometimes followed by a bloody show. usualy when you lose it, you will probably, but not for sure, have the baby within a week or so. i lost mine and had the baby a week later, as well as my aunt with all her kids.
