When does the doctor start checking if im dialated at all and if the baby has dropped also how do they check if the baby has dropped??? & when do they usually do the group b test? Iam 33weeeks and i have been going to the doctors every week for the past 3weeks because doctor is keeping a close eye on me because my blood preassure has been a little high.

They usually start all of that when you are full-term at 37 weeks.  Checking for dilation could trigger contractions, so the avoid doing it before the baby is full term.

I was checked for dilation at 35 wks.  That's usually around the time they start checking, although there are no hard fast rules about it.  When you are checked for dilation the Dr can tell you if you've dropped at all.  The group Beta strep test is commonly done around the same time. 35-37 weeks.

i am now 38 weeks and was just checked last week now i go every week and i hope that i do not have any more vaginal checks the doc used a speculum and that hurt and made me have bad cramps

They did my group b test at 36 weeks as well stated to check to see if I was dilated.  It is different with each doctor though.  Just ask at your next appointment.  I hope you have better luck than me.  I am 37 wks and 2 days and I am not dilated or effaced at all.  Best wishes.

My doctor did the group b strep at 37 weeks and just started checking me at 38. Some doctors don't even check for dilation until you are in labor. Since your bp is high, your doctor may induce you at 37 or 38 weeks. Best of luck to you!
