You can request an invitation direct from Yahoo Mash.

Go to http://invites.mashable.com/site/yahooma...

Underneath Log In, click on "Create an account"  (for this you can use the same info that you use for other Yahoo stuff_

Enter your email address, Yahoo username and password. Click "Sign Up".

On the right side of next page, click "Request An Invite" for yahoomash".

When done, make sure to click "Log Out".
