  1. -You have to visit Rome, for its historical and cultural aspects. It's a fun place, and you'll be close to the Vatican, if interested.

-If you're into the Renaissance, I suggest Florence. It's beautiful. There is a lot to do there, great dining, shopping (great leather shops!) and sight seeing. The Duomo is there. It's a fun and lively city, and the locals are very nice.

-If you want the whole tourist/shopping experience go to the Island of Capri. Stuff is expensive, but they have great restaurants and beautiful shops.

  2. See the center of Rome, Monte Mario, Piza Esponia, Piza Novana, VIA Lorenzo is also a good area. But I was there for 3 months and I was not able to see every thing in Rome there is a lot to see.

  3. Hello,

You will love Rome.  Two days isn't a lot of time but you can hit all the main sites and a few of the lesser sights.

Day 1: start out early (7-8 am).  Go to the colosseum.  See colosseum, forum, palatine hill, trajans markets, circus maximus, Santa Maria in Cosmedin church with the bocca della verita, capitolini hill and the capitolini museums.  All of these sites are right next to each other so you won't waste much time walking to the sites.  Check the map to get a better idea of the layout.  In the evening stop by the trevi fountain.

Day 2- Swing by the trevi fountain again, then onto the spanish steps, the pantheon, piazza navona, the castel sant  angelo and then onto St. Peters basilica.  You can tour the museums if you want, just get there after 1pm for the shortest lines.

This will let you see all the main sites in Rome.  Any church you pass by you should stop into.  They are all wonderful inside even if they look very plain on the outside.  You will be able to walk everywhere in Rome.  At the end of day 2 if you have  a free evening just go for a walk to soak up the Rome atmosphere.  You will have a great time.

  5. I think you should go to the:

    Colosseum

    St. Peter's Basilica

    Vatican City

    Trevi Fountain

    Castel Sant'Angelo

    Piazza di Spagna

    Piazza Navona

    Palatine Hill

    Roman Forum

    Piazza del Popolo

    Capitoline Hill

    Pantheon

There is lots to be seen in Rome but for 2 days you have to visit the above. Have fun!

  6. The best thing about Rome is that its quite small as far as modern cities goes. Saying that, there would have to be more things to see there per square foot than anywhere else on Earth! I've been there 6 times so far (going back at the end of June for 10 days) and I still haven't seen everything.

You could spend one day seeing the ancient city, then the other day seeing the Christian city.

    Ancient city -

Colosseum, Roman Forum, Arch of Constantine, Trajan's Market, the Imperial Forums, Palatine Hill, Capitoline Hill (2 awesome museums there), Theatre of Marcellus, Circus Maximus, Forum Boreum and Santa Maria in Cosmedin (6th century church where the Mouth Of Truth is), and have a look inside just about every church you walk past.

    Christian city -

Vatican Museum, St Peter's, Castel San Angelo, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and once again look inside every church you walk past along the way.

Have a great time; Rome is one of the most amazing cities in the world.
