Please please answer! I am begging for help!?

Okay, there is this trip at our school over spring break, and my friend and i are DYING to go together!! The only problem is that we are both having some trouble convincing our parents to let us go to Costa Rica!! Money is not an issue, we are gonna do tons of fundraisers! How can we convince them that we are responsible and old (14) enough to go out of the country with school??

A school sponsored and chaperoned trip? Or a spring break trip with the kids from your school?

Makes a big big difference. I have a feeling it's the latter. And I would have told my kids - no way hosaa.

Only 14 years old, huh.  I think you should appreciate the loving, protective parents that you have and worry about having fun later on in life.  Anything can happen on these trips chaperone or no chaperone.  I would let it go and concentrate on other fun activities - just heading down to the local shore with family and close friends.  Not that it's a safe world, but it's certainly safer than going to a foreign country where they have different laws than the US.

Have the teachers talk to them. Talk to the teachers about it, and they will most likely be on your side, and they can maybe convince your parents into letting you go.

By all means go on a trip with your friend BUT be advised Costa Rica is an extremely dangerous place to go. I have been there as a ship's officer and it is not safe for us to go ashore even for adults in a group.. So why not go somewhere different where you will have a good time instead of risking your life for no purpose.

I don't think you ARE old enough and if you r like any 14 yr old I know you r not responsible enough. How bout that? I wouldn't let mine go that young especially after that Holloway girl in Aruba getting killed. Nope you r toooo young
