Please pray for my drug addict brother?

My parents are taking him to the emergency room tommorow morning for a mental evaluation...I hope they will keep him and he gets help!! He has been in and out for years and he only stays clean for awhile. This time he is worse than we have ever seen him. We are really scared. His wife is on drugs too and she wont get help. When he went in last time he checked himself out because he was too worried about "what she was doing" while he was there. Please pray for success this time...A family is scared ...we may lose him if nothing works!

  1. I will...and I am sorry your family is going through this.  Addiction is a sickness of the whole family and not just the addict.  My brother struggled for years with drugs.  He no longer does them but is a heavy drinker instead.  It is so sad.  Many people who have mental health issues turn to drugs and/or alcohol to cope and self-medicate.  Maybe if a proper diagnosis is made, he can get the help he needs.  The problem is that most doctors can't and won't diagnose someone until they have been clean for some time because it is hard to tell between an actual mental health problem and one that is brought on by the drug use itself.  He is so lucky to have a family that loves and supports him.  Please make sure there are healthy boundaries in place so that your family doesn't get so wrapped up in his problems and issues that it takes over your lives and happiness.  It is up to him to get and stay clean.  Some people have to hit rock bottom before they can get better.  I do hope he gets better.  God Bless

  6. I will pray for your brother.

I know this time is hard for him and for your family as well, but I can honestly say prayer does work. You have to have faith and believe that God will provide. It may take sometime, but in the end it will be worth the wait. God sees your heart and as long as you have it in your heart that God can and will save your brother then he will do it.

I know prayer works because if it was not for the Lord I would not be sitting here drug free for the past four years. My point is if the Lord can save me I know and have faith he will save your brother too.

May God be with you all.

James 1:6 When he ask, He must believe and have NO DOUBT).....

    Matthew 21:22

If you believe you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.

    James 5:15

The prayer offers in faith will make the sick person well.

  12. You know my Father was an alcoholic and an avid smoker for many many years ( my oldest sister is 35 and he started way before that)..and the worst kind too..the one who abused both his wife and kids ( including me)...the one who cheated and even reached the point where he brought home his sweetheart to live with my mom and us...a few months ago he turned over his life to God ( thank you Jesus!) and from the day he did he has never touched an once of alcohol or smoked. He is a changed man and all around him sees this! I wrote this to let you know that your brother's situation is not hopeless...he and his wife can be restored..you just need to trust God with this one and ask Him to make the change in both their hearts

Dear Heavenly Father, i humbly approach your throne of grace in the name of Jesus on the behalf of jamzesmom for her brother. Lord you see the whole picture of this situation and nothing is hid from you. You know very well the reasons which would cause this young man to stay at a place of self destruction and also why his wife would too. Father  i know you can  reach them both and bring home the seriousness of their situations to them. You are righteous and just in all your ways Lord and i ask in the name of Jesus that you will bind those spirits that now beset these two. Lord remember the sacrifice of your Son Jesus Christ for such as these.. . please Lord draw them to you and bring them to a place of repentance so that they can be freed from this heavy yoke they carry. Touch their minds, bodies and souls and speak your words of healing and deliverance to them right now in the name of Jesus. Amen
