If in our future a method of time travel was discovered and people decided to travel into the past, then right at this moment the timestream has turned into a “timetree,” this is because whenever a “timetraveler” decides to venture into the past, the timestream compensates by creating a new “branch.” This causes anybody who is native to that time to literally have their lives duplicated. Meaning that the changed section of the time stream “branches” off from the main bulk. Therefore keeping the main body of the time stream intact, this is basically ignoring everything done by the “timetraveler.” Alas they cannot be ignored so the timestream creates a branch out towards the future.

im only 14 so this is way out of my league.

all of that is purely hypothetical of course.

  1. Presumably it means that if a person went back in time, they would create a new future.  The future that was going to be would still happen, there would just be two separate futures going along at the same time (in parallel).

Each other person who went back would have the same effect, making multiple futures, like branches of a tree, all growing forward at the same time!  These futures would likely (mostly) be basically the same, just with minor changes made by the time traveler.  Some could be (or become) very different.

    I hope that helps...
