Read above, yes it sounds right....many times tied to the cooling/water system.

  2. It is for the benefit of the people in the flats. That disease lives in high buildings where there are moist warm conditions.

  3. To comply with the health and safety act  , the water system of all flats in the area will be inspected , due to a suspected case of legionnaires disease . A contractor has been appointed and the date to commence works will be arranged as soon as possible . Thank you for your assistance in this matter and may we apologise for any inconvenience . contact - 01111-222 -333 or contractor on 444-555-666 .

  4. Is it a private landlord? If so get in touch with him and check perhaps via his agent .

If it is a council property telephone your local council housing dept. to check. Ignore the telephone numbers on the letter. Crooks are up to that one.   It may well be OK but no harm in a little self defence and precaution

  5. no. Call any telephone number on the note to check it's safe to let these people in to your property. Also if it's not on coucnil headed paper that should ring an alarm. Also they have mispelt Legionnaire's Disease. Keep a chain lock on your door and don't let anyone in without them showing you identity. If they can't provide one, ask which company they work for and try to call them

  6. Sounds like someone getting freework from the council

  7. funny that as I live in a bungalow with Home housing here and we were told that an inspector was supposedly coming yesterday to look at same. so perhaps it is right.
