My half brother raped me when i was younger and my sister and i turned him in last year, well to make a long story short, i got a phone call yesturday saying that, he is going to the mental sylum on thursday,'till he is declared mentally stable, then he is going to my parents house to live. The court claims if it was to go to trail my half brother couldn't defend himself b/c he's bipolar/skitzofrinik, but if he gets out, i know he's going to hurt someone else or try to harrass me, even though i'm 3000 miles away. What should i do and how should i feel about this? btw i am 16 weeks pregnant with my first, no it's not my half brothers its my fiances kid and i'm really not trying to stress about this but it's hard not to.

  1. he cant get to you and I wouldnt answer my phone unless I have caller id and I am sure if he harrasses you then he will definately go to jail you live far away so dont stress

  2. just try not to think about it, he isnt going to be near you so its not worth stressing over and risking your babies health. if he does find you then you can just call the police and he will get in a lot more trouble, but im sure by now he will have learned his lesson. his conditions are no excuse for rape, so hopefully something can be done before he does anything like that again. dont let it worry you, keep it in the past and concentrate on your future. good luck.

  3. Being bi polar and/or schizophrinia (the two are related) is just a excuse.

If your parents are going to put one child over the other like this, stay away.  You are starting a family of your own and just put your energy into your own family.

People with such conditions as your half brother know right from wrong. They know to run and hide for they did something wrong. No excuse.

This type of thing gives a free pass for anyone and everyone who has mental health problems, it is sad and it is wrong.

They may claim it will do no good to go to trail, however you need closure. Your parents did not teach you and your siblings right from wrong?

How would you feel if he did this to more people? If he is dangerous he needs to be out of society.

He might be found guilty, spend time in the mental health facility then when "better" go to jail, at least others would be safe from him.

    Wish you well!
