  2. Try and avoid getting on teacher's bad sides. You don't want one hating you all year

  3. my daughter is 11

shes starting school too and is looking forward to meeting new friends

  4. make sure you dont have a geeky schoolbag, i've seen people get teased, its awful..

  5. My advice is think of this.  There are so many going into first year and they will all be thinking the same way as you.  It's daunting meeting new people for the first time, new place, new regimes.  Just be yourself and be friendly with people.  I guarantee after the first week you will leave school with new friends.  Good luck to you.

  6. Just remember that every other new pupil to secondary school will be the same as yourself. You are not alone in being nervous about it, but you will soon make friends on your first day.

  7. I was kinda nervous about secondary school, I LOVE it though! Literally, I love school at the moment, and miss it now that it's the holidays. It's brilliant, you're given so much more independence, you're treated like an adult instead of a silly little kid and the teachers are way better because they are specialist subject teachers, so they're brilliant at the subject they teach. You get to know so many different people with different personalities and it's an amazing experience.

  8. you meet a lot of new people, and you make lots of new friends :]

it's some of the best years of your life and with tons of opportunities so live it up!

    good luck (:

  9. just becareful and secondary school will fly past you quickly.

  10. Go to atthesecrossroads.blogspot.com.

There's a great list of tips for being a freshman if you scroll down.

  11. ok just be friendly and yourself and very IMPORTANTLY never be shy or quiet. you also need to choose your new friends wisely and good luck!

  12. HONESTLY,

meet new friends, the "right" friends,

    don't do drugs,

    don't dress too revealing

    and don't cause drama.

    and you'll survive.

    school nowadays :(

  13. I teach in a secondary school, and i recently helped out with a new freshman orientation program.  All schools should offer it, it is a great way for the new students to learn the hallways, meet friends, etc.  My advice is get there early the first day, ask any questions about location, and meet people.  By the end of the 1st or 2nd day you will feel right at home.

  14. Enjoy... meet people.

  15. Erm, just be nice to people make new friends, and enjoy it while you're there, it goes so fast!!! Good Luck.

  16. relax,be yourself. getting yourself worreid over it is useless.im going into 6th year and im going to be 1 of the 20 mentors to new students so if ur school is good u will hav guys and gals like me who wil help u ....secondary school is fun u hav great choices for subjects and i want to be a secondary school teacher because of it so just enjoy it because u will hav fun
