Put offer on a House late Saturday afternoon. Got a call back stating that they had submitted the offer and would get back to us. Im dying to know what they have said, as i am very impatient. My Partner has told me under no circumstances must a ring them to get an outcome as it will appear th the EA that we are really interested. Im thinking that if they don't ring by 2 this afternoon, that i should ring them and say was wondering what the Vendor has said as we have seen another proerty this Morning and are looking at putting an offer in if the vendor on this property doesn't accept (We havent by the way) What do you think?

  1. Ring them! it shows you are keen, and when me and my husband bought our house last year we had to keep ringing constantly as they didn't do things unless we kept on at them!

    Ring now! :-)

    Good Luck!!

  2. Patience is a virtue.

  3. Your partner is right. Do not appear to keen it will spoil your negotiation stance. So wait and if you hear nothing in say 72 hours from now assume that the offer has been turned down.

Youi may then get a lovely suprise. Do not be tempted to put a higher offer in, remember the market is in a downturn

  4. I'm not sure where you are, but in the USA it is customary to include a time limit for a response to a real estate offer (usually 24 to 48 hours). The seller has to respond within this time or your offer will be voided and you can then move on to another property. I don't think it would be improper for you to call and ask about your offer. Just don't seem too anxious.

  5. Bad idea, your partner is correct.

Leave them to make a decision otherwise it looks as though you are desparate and the price will inflate.
