It's philosophical in nature - but it's a good, fun read - and figurative too.

Please give me your opinions on its style and also, what meaning you think it's trying to convey.

  1. Hey,

I really like it! I think it means we are who we are, like the guy above me said :)

  2. I enjoyed the poem very much.  I enjoyed the debate between the tree and the philosopher.  My only concern was that the tree gave in so easily at the end.  I like that he gave in in such an unexpected and comedic fashion but I felt that there was still two or three good arguments to be had.  You know like how is it the bird or man can be seen in the shadow beside the tree and then the tree (as it says in the poem) can see them outside of himself.  And I had another really good example oh yeah How come no one shows the tree his 'colorful' leaves, especially when they fall.  Shadows being dark and all he'd see the leaves leave but what of the leaves new existence.  Maybe I'm just deeper than I imagine.

  3. I think the message it is trying to convey is that we are who we are and their is nothing we can do to change it. A tree is a tree and a shadow is a shadow.

That is what I think. Unless I am wrong (for the tenth time!)lol.
